Hello, I’m Joe Waldron, a custom blade smith based in Tennessee. Working in the peace and solitude of my shop, I’ve turned my passion for knife making and forging into more than just a hobby—it’s become my life’s work.

My journey began on a small ranch in Wyoming, where I grew up surrounded by the need to be resourceful. In our remote location, we couldn’t just buy what we needed, so we made do with what we had. I learned many practical skills from my grandparents, parents, and other relatives, who taught me the value of being handy with metal and wood. Workshop class in school was essential, and I quickly became adept at fixing and creating tools. Growing up hunting and later serving as an Infantry Soldier, I understood firsthand the importance of a good knife.

My love for knives was always there, but it truly ignited when I started watching the TV show “Forged in Fire.” That show inspired me to explore knife making seriously. For over seven years, I’ve been crafting knives, initially for friends, coworkers, and family members. One day, while watching “Forged in Fire” with my wife, I questioned why the smiths on the show made the same mistakes repeatedly. She challenged me to do better, and from that moment, my journey as a knife maker truly began.

My mission is to improve with every knife I craft and exceed my customers’ expectations. While I’m not completing a full knife in less than three hours like some might on TV, I avoid the common mistakes I’ve seen others make. My belief is to build the best product possible, one that stands the test of time and can be passed down through generations. My knives are more than just tools; they are a testament to my craftsmanship. I want future generations to hold them and be impressed by the quality and dedication that went into making them.
